Born in 1981, I discovered the piano at the age of 7. Even before approaching music theory, it was the art of gesture and the quest for sound that captivated me. That first intuition has never left me: for me, music is first and foremost a sensory experience, a language that transcends words.
My thirst for learning led me to explore a wide range of musical horizons, through demanding and complementary courses of study. In Paris, I trained at institutions as varied as the American School of Modern Music, the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, and several municipal conservatories. Those intense years earned me diplomas in: jazz (improvisation, arrangement, repertoire), musical writing (harmony, counterpoint, fugue), acoustics and electroacoustic music, orchestration and musical analysis, Indian music (the study of ragas and cyclical rhythms), ethnomusicology (research into traditional music and its structures), and music for image (composition for film and media). This diversity is no accident: it reflects my conviction that musical creation is born from the meeting of seemingly distant worlds. Each discipline taught me to listen differently — whether through the rigour of baroque writing, the freedom of jazz, or the complexity of traditional rhythms.
For more than ten years, I toured the roads as a keyboardist, notably with the band Lilly Wood and the Prick. Those years of touring gave me invaluable experience: playing on legendary stages (from the Zénith in Paris to the Irving Plaza in New York), sharing music with varied audiences, and understanding the alchemy of live performance. And yet it was always to the piano — my instrument of choice — that I returned, as if it were inevitable.
My first solo album, Grapes (2020), marks this return to my roots. Through original pieces, I explore dialogues between baroque-inspired forms and contemporary polyrhythms. Critics praised a music both refined and accessible, where melancholy vies with a dreamlike serenity.
Based in the Redon area, I am now devoted to creation and teaching. I teach piano, harmony and composition at the Redon Agglomération conservatoire, where I try to share this vision of a music that is living, organic and connected to the world. My approach to composition draws on the idea that music, like nature, is a complex system in which each element finds its place within a harmonious whole. Whether through piano writing, orchestration or improvisation, I seek to create works that invite listening — an active listening, where the audience can perceive the interplay between sounds, silences and the emotions they carry.
